The Québec Association for Equity and Inclusion in Post-Secondary Education (AQEIPS) is proud to launch the 27th edition of its bursary program for post-secondary students with disabilities (SWD) at all levels.
The goal of the program is to support SWD who often face increased costs and barriers when pursuing a post-secondary education. The program also serves to encourage students to persevere on their path to a higher education. Our bursary program is made possible by the generous donations of donors, partners, and members.
Did you know ?
● 15.8% of people living with a disability have a cegep diploma compared to 18.2% of people without a disability;
● 18.2% of people living with a disability have a university diploma compared to 25% for people without a disability;
● Among people ages 15 to 64 living with a disability, approximately 54.7% are employed compared to 75.3% of people without a disability.

Apply for a bursary
1. Check your eligibility
In order to be eligible for the bursary program, you must :
Be registered in at least one class in a post-secondary institution located in the province of Québec between September 2025 and April 2026;
* A permanent disability is a permanent functional limitation which affects the ability of the student to participate fully in post-secondary education. (NEADS, 2023)
2. Gather your documents
To submit a complete application, you will need to upload the following documents :
Proof of enrolment in a post-secondary institution that includes your first and last name, the name of your school and the term (Fall 2025 or Winter 2026) – Examples : transcript or validation of enrolment containing all the elements in bold.
Curriculum Vitae (CV) – make sure it is up-to-date
Cover letter – you will find instructions for the cover letter below.
In order to get to know you, we ask that you write us a short cover letter. Your letter must be a minimum of 200 words and a maximum of 600 words.
Your cover letter must include all of the following elements :
How your disability has affected your ability to pursue a post-secondary education.
Your career goals and/or plans.
A clear demonstration of your perseverance in the face of the obstacles related to your disability.
A short description of how receiving a bursary would help you continue to pursue a higher education.
Involvement in the community through volunteering or activism is considered an asset.
Save these three documents as PDF files on your computer. You will be uploading them at the end of the application form.
3. Fill out your application
Once you have checked your eligibility, become an AQEIPS member and gathered your documents, prepare to fill out your application form in AQEIPS’ member area. Please take note of some of the information you will be asked :
At the end of the form, we ask that you consent to the conditions of the bursary program. It is mandatory to sign the consent form to confirm your application. If you do not consent to the conditions of the program, please do not submit your application.
• If I am awarded a bursary, I agree to provide AQEIPS with a photo, a video or a short text expressing my gratitude.
• I allow AQEIPS to publish the photo, video or text I will have provided to that effect, as well as my first and last name, on their website and other official websites, as well as for promotional use, including during promotionalpresentations and advertisement campaigns.
• I allow AQEIPS to use the personal information I have provided in this form for statistical, educational and promotional purposes.
• I renounce any compensation with regards to the use of my name, including rights to a copy derived from the production, modification or promotion of a video.
• I have the right to ask AQEIPS to remove my voice and/or image from all platforms, at any time, by sending a 30 day notice to [email protected].

Yes, all SWD are encouraged to apply. If you have won a bursary in previous years, youwill be eligible to apply again this year.
* Please note that AQEIPS seeks to encourage as many SWD as possible. If a choice must be made between two finalists, AQEIPS will award the bursary to the student who has not yet won a bursary with our association.
Due to long waiting lists for evaluations for students with invisibledisabilities (ASD, ADD, ADHD, learning disabilities, post-traumatic stress disorder, etc.) students who are self-diagnosed are eligible to apply.Please clearly explain your situation in your cover letter.
