Pathways Project : Workplace accessibility

AQEIPS is collaborating with NEADS (the National Educational Association of Students with Disabilities)  NEADS, Sustainable Livelihoods Canada (Home – Sustainable Livelihoods Canada (slcanada.org)  ) , MLPD (Manitoba league of people with disabilities Manitoba League of Persons with Disabilities (mlpd.mb.ca) and Canada Post on project Pathways, a project to improve employment opportunities and workplace accessibility for people with disabilities (PWD).  

This project is being financed through the WORBE program: Workplace opportunities: Removing barriers to equity. Funding WORBE: Workplace Opportunities: Removing Barriers to Equity – Canada.ca 

The goals of the project are to:  

  • Guide people with disabilities (PWD) to help them find rewarding employment opportunities. 
  • Encourage candidates to look for and find jobs in a variety of fields.  
  • Find opportunities for accessible employment and develop best practices for making jobs accessible in the postal and courier service sectors.   

This project is innovative and aims to mentor candidates to help them develop the competencies, skills and adaptability to increase their level of employability and allow for a successful transition to the job market.  

We are currently working to develop best practices when it comes to looking for a job as well as helping to train coaches who will be offering a coaching service to our participants.
