Bursary program

The 2026 bursary program has launched! AQEIPS SWD members were able to apply through their member area until January 15, 2026.

We will announce the bursary recipients during our bursary award ceremony in Spring 2026.

For over 25 years, our bursary program has been encouraging the success of students with disabilities and celebrating the diversity of their post-secondary endeavours.

Several groups of people with disabilities share moments together. In the centre, a group of students graduate. Together.

Connecting-the-dots conference

In October, AQEIPS participated in CNIB‘s Connecting-the-dots conference. This year, the conference took place in Sherbrooke on a beautiful fall day.

The conference featured an exhibition hall for various partners and collaborators, as well as presentations and workshops on the topics of visual impairment and accessibility.

Felicity Spence, project manager at AQEIPS, and Sergeline Isidore, former administrator at AQEIPS and founder of Mon Bras Droit Éduc, run a booth at the event.

Awareness day at UQTR

It was once again a pleasure to be welcomed at UQTR for visible and invisible disability awareness day, to present our services as well as our board game aiming to raise awareness of disabled students’ higher ed experiences.

Thank you Chloé and Philippe!

AMASQ’s annual conference

The AQEIPS team attended the 4th annual AMASQ (Alliance des milieux adaptés de scolarisation du Québec) conference.

Our research project manager presented our work, highlighting the persistent barriers faced by students with disabilities when entering post-secondary education, as well as the importance of collective action to combat systemic ableism and ensure equitable access to education.

Maude Chartier-Desjardins, a white woman with a visual impairment, presents a slide on ableism to a group. She is wearing sunglasses and leaning on her white cane.
