{"id":6746,"date":"2025-07-01T14:57:33","date_gmt":"2025-07-01T18:57:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aqeips.org\/?p=6746"},"modified":"2025-07-01T14:57:36","modified_gmt":"2025-07-01T18:57:36","slug":"literature-review-employment-prospects-for-students-with-disabilities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aqeips.org\/en\/literature-review-employment-prospects-for-students-with-disabilities\/","title":{"rendered":"Literature review: employment prospects for students with disabilities"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-bootstrap-blocks-container container mb-2\">\r\n\t\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Full title: <em>Literature review: Educational and legal perspectives on the employment of students with disabilities in sectors related to their field of study&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:1em\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">AQEIPS is currently conducting a project reviewing existing literature to <strong>identify barriers and stepping stones to the employment of students with disabilities in the Quebec job market, in sectors related to their field of study.<\/strong> This project, led by two students from the Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al, Maude Chartier-Desjardins, a doctoral student in education, and Dj\u00e9lika Keita, a doctoral student in law, is in line with our associative mission to promote the collective defense of students&#8217; rights and encourage full social participation, both academically and professionally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:1em\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-blue-dark-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-6bd3d784e396a483d8367662f74a2a44\"><strong>As AQEIPS&#8217; mission is rooted in the post-secondary environment, we feel it is essential to gain a better understanding of the professional realities that our members are facing and will face throughout their careers. &nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:1em\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Many barriers to hiring, such as prejudice, lack of accommodation and inaccessibility<\/strong>, are reported by our community and seem to take root as early as the academic path.
